In some android phones having android version 4.4 we do not get options like gsm only and wcdma only and hence our phone cannot latch on to a 3g network in low network areas.To overcome this problem just dial *#*#4636#*#* in your dialer and under phone information u will see the option 3g only and wcdma only.
